Our Pastor

My name is Pastor John Marquis, I am married to the woman of my dreams and have 3 awesome kids; Quintin (15), Johanna (11), Olivia (6). I’ve been doing ministry for 11 years, although this is only my first year at Hope Wesleyan. I gave my life over to Christ in 2005, but not till I filled my life up with the emptiness that comes from drugs and too much alcohol for many years prior to when I surrendered my life to Christ. When I accepted Christ I knew that God had been calling me to pastor his people all my life, but I just ran from it. So, I accepted the call and have been placed by God here at First Hope Wesleyan to serve and to follow His guidance for His Church. I believe in the power of the Holy Spirit to transform any heart to be in His image. I believe every word that the Bible says and will not compromise truth. My wife is my partner in ministry and is my biggest fan. I trust in the idea that God forms us to be his body designed to spread the Gospel through sharing the Love of Jesus Christ. My walk with Christ is not your walk with Christ which is why I love the opportunity to disciple and teach others what it means to have their walk with Christ.
